Aftermarket Heater Core

A heater core is a radiator-like device used for heating the cabin of a vehicle. It is a small radiator located under the dashboard of the vehicle, and it consists of conductive aluminum or brass tubing with cooling fins to increase surface area. Hot coolant passing through the heater core gives off the heat before returning to the engine cooling circuit. Most engines use the heater core to warm the air coming from the air conditioner if the dash setting is not on "cold." Some efficient designs, however, do not adopt this because it will just make the engine work harder than it has to. It is not always needed to maintain the heater cores, but it can get damaged by having coolant on the floor of the interior and poor heater output.

Aftermarket Radiator

A radiator is an integral part of your car’s engine coolant system. Its primary purpose is to keep the engine cool — if the radiator were to malfunction, the engine would overheat and damage the engine. Because of that, your vehicle is equipped with a cooling system that would keep the engine operating at the right temperature. It is designed to transfer heat from the hot coolant that flows through it to the air blown through it by the fan. In automobiles with a liquid-cooled internal combustion engine, a radiator is connected to channels running through the engine and cylinder head, through which a liquid is pumped. This liquid may be water but is more commonly a mixture of water and antifreeze in proportions appropriate to the climate. The radiator transfers the heat from the fluid inside to the air outside, thereby cooling the fluid, which in turn cools the engine. Radiators are also often used to cool automatic transmission fluids, air conditioner refrigerant, intake air, and sometimes to cool motor oil or power steering fluid. The radiator works by passing your coolant through thin metal fins, which allow the heat to flow to the air outside your car much more easily. Sometimes, there is a fan that blows air across the radiator in order to carry the hot air out of your car. In essence - a radiator cools the coolant, which then cools your engine.
